"EKULE!" The voice could hardly be heard of the roaring fires. The Empires great marvel of an airship was spewing out flames in all directions. The culprits were inside their own little air worthy vessel, save for one.
"EKULE! IT'S TO LATE! YOU'LL DIE IF YOU GET BACK IN THERE!" The voice of Elik screamed.
Ekule looked back briefly at his friends....
* * *
Not so long ago the Empire's airship had taken off from its grand palace station, setting coarse for the mountain city of Kalips. ALL cities in the world of Zone were upon mountains due to the great risks the world held beneath the clouds. The vicious monsters of all sizes and the poison produced were a sure mix of circumstance that'd kill humans in an instance. So the sky was the only place anyone could survive.
This wasn't just ANY empire ship however, for this one was of great importance. It was protected by an elite troop of twenty fighter ships. It was stupid for the empire to think such over protection of such a precious cargo would forgo the attraction of bandits. In heinz sight though, it was their greatest mistake.
The first indication was one of their pilots failing to respond to a radio call out. This was shortly followed by one of the for front fighter ships suddenly exploding for what seemed to be no reason what so ever. The panic that ran through the bodies of general aboard the main airship, brought fear into the people around him. Below them, beneath their visual was a small little ship surfacing from beneath the clouds cover. Ekule sat upon the top, his rifle in hand. only three fighter ships remained, and unfortunately for them Ekule knew where each of their planes weak points sat. Three trails of smoke saw the demise of each plane as it plummeted towards the clouds ever onwards to the dark depths.
The boarding of the airship was relatively simple. All Tra-Wuits needed to do was place an explosive on the exterior of the ship and let the timer bring on the new entrance. Thus the invasion of Ekule, Elik and Tra-Wuits reigned down upon the empires ship. Guns were fired, melee weapons clashed and destruction was brought through with their acts of thievery. Although it would have to be said it was less an act of thievery if what they were after was in fact a person who was themselves, already having been stolen by the empire.
The fight grew ever intense as the three thieves fought their way through all the barricades and onslaughts the general of the airship threw at them.The general soon lost face and shut himself away in the giant cockpit along with its thirty or so pilots and a good one hundred soldiers at his side.
This left any stragglers left in the main airships rooms to either accept a good knocking out or face the ice cold hand of death. The prisoner it seemed was all but forgotten about and after several hours of struggling they found them all alone inside a deserted room. Currently unconscious, The prisoner lay in a bed and completely unaware of the proceedings going on.
"we have long outstayed our welcome here" Elik pointed out to his comrades, both nodding in reply. Tra-Wuits hoisted the prisoner onto his back followed the other two out towards their exit. There seemed to be no one left, either that or those who remained were playing it smart and staying out of the way. Their own ship was still saftly tied to the entrance they had made up. Elik made his way into the pilots seat. Already the flames were spreading over the airship. the gun fire had set off combustion in several gas pockets, the explosions enticing flames ever onwards. Next was Ekule, setting himself inside their ship as to grab the prisoner off of Tra-Wuits. This done succefully, Tra-Wuits himself was about to board the ship when an explosion sent him falling backwards, the ship set away from the airship in a mass of heated air. Gaining their feet, Ekule and Elik stared in horror as not only their friend but also the entire Empire airship sunk beneath the clouds. The prisoner saftly secured at the back of the ship, Ekule gave his friend an all knowing look.
* * *
"EKULE! IT'S TO LATE! YOU'LL DIE IF YOU GET BACK IN THERE!" The voice of Elik screamed.
Ekule looked back briefly at his friends "You have a mission to finish, take care of yourself!" and with a final smile, he bent his knees and flung himself from the side door of their ship, plummeting ever downwards until eventually the clouds swallowed him from eyesight.
"YOU..." what followed from Elik's lips was a string of swear words that seemed intent on insulting his friend in any way possible. Eventually he subsided in irrational talk and conceded to one final thought "...Oh how I hate you..."

A rock in the ship sent a tremor through the floor, and the simple, stale hum of the air brought Mathias to his senses. Throughout all of the rustle that had gone on, he became immidiately alert, though his conscious reminded him that danger still lurked about. He opened his eyes slowly to see the ceiling of the ship, in a room unfamiliar to his previous memory, and his thoughts blurred into a string of pain from a slight wound at the back of his skull. His lengthy brown hair spread around him, and he brushed the weblike strings from his face, trying to rise to a sitting position while the world seemingly rocked beneath him.

The ship was only small, but Elik didn't notice the man rise behind him. Elik's mind was focused upon his friends who hadn't recently departed. 'But only departed this ship!' His mind quickly interjected. The low hum of the propellers cutting through the air above hi is all he could hear, to which he sighed. His eyes dropped to his arm, where on the back of his wrist he saw the tattoo both he and his friends had. They would be alright, even if they were now plummeting at great speeds towards the ground level where not only poison worked against them but also the creatures.
Life was fine. At least that's what he was telling himself unconvincingly

Mathias stared at the figure before him, his heart racing as adrenaline flooded his veins. One man was easy to take down - but not if the man was as trained as those he had been fighting. Under his confusion, he contemplated the situation and come up with nothing absent of risk. He kept his breathing shallow and balanced himself low to the ground, on his feet, glancing over his shoulder and briefly around his surroundings. There seemed to be no one else aboard, as if it were deserted - but of course he could not take that chance. Green eyes fixed on the man, Mathias rose to his full height, awaiting his own decision though time was not on his side. Attacking would be foolish - but waiting could be deadly. And there certainly wouldn't be an easy means of escape, as the territory was unfamiliar - and the plane was a striking distance from the ground below.

Elik turned to see how the prisoner was doing, only to find he was standing. A smile spread across Elik's lips "I'm glad to see your awake, I'm sorry it's taken us so long to come to your rescue. The empire isn't exactly the easiest foe to steal from." Elik turned around again and continued driving the little ship over the clouds. "I recommend you take it easy until we reach port, I'll be able to answer any questions you may have there"

It took Mathias a minute to compose himself, as his suspicions remained. "I don't understand," he said evenly, bracing himself against the wall and watching the man with an emerging qualm. "You are a foe of the empire?" The man defiantely wasn't familiar, but Mathias didn't imagine he would be. He himself was dressed in a uniform from his older performances, but among the entanglement, all sense of preservation was lost. His skin was smudged with dirt, circles beneath his eyes, bruises among his arms.

"yeeeeah you could say that I guess" Elik turned his head slightly so his voice could be heard better "I apologize on behalf my self and my fellow friends for taking our time in rescuing you. Penetrating an empires defences isn't easy especially with only three of us working on it"

"Three? You took on the empire with only three men?" His sense of a astonishment did not falter as he carefully studied the ship, surprised by but not quiet believing that so few could take on such an enemy.

"one, three, hundreds. It doesn't matter how many people are on a team, if they have the knowledge then they will have the upper hand to beat the other team. The fact that we knew everything about them and they knew nothing of us was what made this mission easy. Although..." Elik looked out the window down the the clouds below. If they had fallen with the ship, then maybe they could find a way to land safetly. But even then, the poison and the monsters that dwelled beneath those forsaken clouds... he didn't finish his sentence.
